Message From The President
Dear MSIECA
Members:
On behalf of the
MSIECA Board members, I want to express our sincere appreciation for
your ongoing support. Over the past year our membership has
increased, and events such as our legislative dinner in Annapolis
set attendance records, including the highest number of important
and influential legislators attending than ever before.
Your active
participation in this organization is essential to our continued
success in fulfilling our important mission:
"To represent
the interests of Maryland employers in an ongoing effort to promote
sound public policy and the highest standards of professional
administration of workers' compensation in Maryland."
To assist in
these efforts, MSIECA is the only organization that retains the
services of a professional, registered lobbyist for the sole purpose
of impacting workers' compensation legislation on behalf of Maryland
employers. This is your organization. It serves as an essential
voice for the industry, protecting your interests by supporting
positive change, while controlling the rising cost of workers'
compensation in our state.
LOBBYING - Every
session of the Maryland General Assembly presents MSIECA with
important issues, and with so many new faces in the legislature, it
is even more important that we have a strong voice in how potential
legislation might affect the future administration of Workers'
Compensation. I hope you will take the time to join us in Annapolis
for our Legislative Reception, and to attend any of the legislative
hearings involving workers' compensation so that you can contribute
directly to the success of your organization's legislative
initiatives.
PROGRAMS -
MSIECA will continue to present timely and interesting programs
throughout the year. These events provide our members with valuable
access to knowledgeable authorities in our industry, as well as
influential legislators, government officials and key members of the
Workers' Compensation Commission. Regular attendance will enable
members to enhance their professional competence.
MEMBERSHIP
DIRECTORY - MSIECA's membership directory is updated annually to
provide members with extensive contact and resource information. The
directory will only be distributed to members in good standing. In
July, you will receive a directory questionnaire, which you can use
to let us know of changes in your membership listing, and an invoice
for membership dues. Please complete the annual directory
questionnaire and return it with your dues investment to ensure your
listing in the 2007 - 2008 Directory.

MSIECA has been able to improve its services without increasing
membership dues because of the generosity of the members who sponsor
this directory, and the flyers promoting our member programs. Please
